Our flight from Anchorage to Seattle did not leave until 18.45, so rather than hang around at the airport all day, we booked this all day tour. We boarded the bus at 08.15. There was a company representative at the cruise terminal baggage collection area. The weather was wild when the bus left Whittier at 08.45. To coincide with the tunnel opening at 09.00, they need to leave on time, so do not be late. It is a single lane tunnel and opens for 15 minutes every hour each way. The tunnel was built in WW2 as a train tunnel by the US Army. Now it can take both trains and cars, but only one way at a time. It’s an icon from a past era.

Various stops on the tour – Portage visitors Center, Alyeska Cable Car, Alaska Conservation Center, plus various other stops for shopping views etc.

Lunch was nice sandwiches.

We did not have very good weather, which did dampen things a bit, but none of the stops were spectacular and we had been spoiled with stunning views on our recent cruise, but it was a pleasant way to spend a day.

The driver/guide was friendly and knowledgeable. 09/13

We had excellent experience for my family of 6 on our transportation from Whittier to Anchorage. We booked the service online and received explanation with instructions about how to find our driver. When we got off the ship, we found company’s representative waiting by the sign “Alaska Cruise Transfer” inside the terminal, they had our names on the list and told us the bus number we were on. We found our bus outside the building and thought this was a very easy and efficient process.

I chose this company for their buses, and that is exactly what I got – a large, comfortable motor coach with restroom on board. The restroom was available to us for the whole trip and driver gave us a friendly tip to use it when in need due to bumps and curvy road.

Narration was excellent, driver/guide was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.

To get out of Whittier you have to go through a one lane tunnel and large buses get to go through first and did not have to wait in line like other vehicles.

We made a scenic stop for photos and visited the Wildlife Conservation Center, took photos of bears, moose, caribou, and bison. It was great as we love animals.

We had a lot of fun and thank Travis (our driver) and Alaska cruise transfer for good memories and a great way to end our cruise adventure. I highly recommend this company and hopefully return to Alaska for some more of its great scenery. 09/13

I chartered two buses with Alaska Cruise Transfers and Tours for the 8 hour tour from Seward to Anchorage with my group of 72. It was a great trip! The drivers were professional. The Tour was exactly what we needed for our group. I am already working with them for my next group in June 2014. I recommend this company for group charters. 06/13

This company helped us out when we were left stranded in Seaward by ATG (Alaska Transportation Group) who cancelled our pre paid transfer back to Anchorage last minute. We were so grateful for their professionalism, care and reliability. The coach was extremely comfortable and scenery amazing, very friendly and informative driver too. 07/14

Used ACT Big Bus from Seward to Anchorage. Price is substantially less than arranging transportation by cruise company. Walked off ship, took a left turn into white “barn” where my luggage was waiting and immediately saw guide with ACT sign. Checked in with him and took my luggage to the bus where driver loaded it. Bus trip included a live, interactive tour via a guide separate from the driver. Stopped at Wildlife Center for 45 minutes where we saw elk, bison, owl, red fox, caribou and black and brown bears. Trip ended at the Ted Stevens Anchorage Airport, though I believe it continued to hotels. Scenery was awesome, guide was knowledgeable and personable and the price was right. 07/14

I found this company on-line in my search to get a cruise transfer from Anchorage to Whittier to get our cruise. The instructions they provided were so exact and specific! From where to find them at the airport if you were going to Whittier; to what to expect and look for if you were getting off a ship, cruise line by cruise line. Our guide made every effort to locate all the guests and even waited for several whose flight was late. Unfortunately at one point we had to leave so that we could go through the tunnel into Whittier and not be held back. Sadly 2 passengers never showed up, though Richie went back into the airport again and again.  The trip to Whittier was about 1 3/4 hours long and our guide narrated the entire trip, pointing out animals and birds as we passed. He also gave us a lot of local information as we traveled. The bus was clean and comfortable and seat belts were provided.  The fee for this transfer was less than we were quoted if we used the cruise line’s services.

I highly recommend this company.

We took Alaska cruise from Vancouver to Anchorage from 6/14 to 6/21 and this last transportation from Whittier to Anchorage including the visit of wildlife park became the most memorable part of the trip. On 6/21, it was raining but the view was really beautiful from Whittier to Anchorage (better than any town we stopped during the trip). We did not see too many wildlife during the cruise but at the wildlife park we had seen many lovely one. The bus is also very unique because it came with a local narrator who has lots of knowledge about Anchorage and it made this trip very interesting. Definitely worth to take it. 07/14

Prompt, comfortable, narrated transportation with a stop at the conservation center along the way for an up close look at bison, Roosevelt elk, bear, moose, bobcats, eagles, caribou. A safe and scenic ride with excellent narration by Rich. Price is fair and more reasonable than the ship. 07/14

The Big Bus folks were at the Princess cruise terminal in Whittier to pick us up. The bus was full and there was a seat for everyone so do pre-reserve your seat. I did it all on the Internet.  Of paramount importance to me is always safety on these buses. The driver was very professional and safe. He kept his eyes on the the road whilst a guide did the talking and narrating as we went along.  We took the tour that stopped at a glacier outside if the tunnel and for about 45 minutes at the wildlife center. We were at the airport by 12:30pm. They will also drop you at your Anchorage hotel. I highly recommend them and would use them again for sure. About half the price of Princess doing the same transfer and just as easy.

From Whittier on the Coral Princess July 5, 2014. Our guide’s name was Trevor, and he was GREAT!!, even better than the other guides we had on the cruise excursion ports. He has all sorts of facts about all the spots he took us to and was terrific. It was an informative and pleasant journey to Anchorage. His heart was really into doing everything he could for all of us.We were on the smaller bus with 28 others and think we lucked out with that. Lunch included. 5*+
